Everything you're wondering

And a few things you might not have thought to ask.

What exactly is Primal Restart?

Primal Restart is a 12-day, medically supervised carnivore wellness retreat. You'll spend two weeks at a luxury venue with a dedicated team of experts: a physician, a private chef, a nutritionist, and a psychologist. Every meal is prepared for you, every aspect of the experience is designed around your healing, and the only thing you need to focus on is yourself.

Why 12 days?  Isn't that a long time?

It is, and that's the point. A weekend retreat can inspire you, but it can't change your biology. Twelve days gives your body enough time to move through the initial adaptation phase and begin experiencing real, measurable results. Most guests start noticing changes within the first week. By day twelve, you'll understand why the length matters.

What does a typical day look like?

Your days will follow a relaxed but intentional rhythm. Mornings begin with a check-in and breakfast prepared by the chef. Depending on the location, you may have yoga, time with farm animals, or quiet outdoor time built into the day. You'll have one-on-one sessions with the nutritionist and psychologist scheduled throughout the retreat, and the physician will be monitoring your progress regularly. Evenings are calm and restorative. The schedule is structured enough to guide you but spacious enough to let you breathe.

I've never tried the carnivore diet.  Can I still attend?

Absolutely. In fact, many guests come to the retreat specifically because they want expert guidance during their first experience with carnivore eating. That's exactly what the nutritionist and physician are there for. You don't need any prior experience. You just need to be open to the process.

What about coffee or tea?  Can I still have it?

This is something you'll discuss with your nutritionist as part of your personalized protocol. Some guests continue with coffee or tea during the retreat; others choose to take a break from it. Your nutritionist will help you decide what makes sense for your body and your goals.

Is alcohol allowed during the retreat?

No. Alcohol is not served or permitted during the retreat. This is a 12-day commitment to your health, and alcohol works directly against the healing process. Many guests find that after the first few days, the craving subsides naturally. This is one of the most commonly reported (and most welcome) surprises of the experience.

Will I feel sick during the transition?

Some guests experience mild adaptation symptoms during the first few days. These can include fatigue, headaches, or digestive changes. This is normal and expected. The physician and nutritionist are monitoring you throughout the process and can help manage any discomfort. For most people, the adaptation phase passes quickly, and what follows is a noticeable increase in energy and clarity.

What does "medically supervised" actually mean?

It means a licensed physician is part of your retreat team from start to finish. Before the retreat, the physician reviews your bloodwork and health history. During the retreat, they monitor your vitals, metabolic markers, and overall well-being. If you're on medications, the physician oversees any adjustments. This isn't a wellness retreat that borrowed a medical buzzword. There is a doctor on your team.

I'm on prescription medications. Can I still attend?

In most cases, yes. Your pre-retreat bloodwork and health intake will give the physician a clear picture of where you stand. If medication adjustments are appropriate during the retreat, they'll happen under the physician's direct supervision. You should never adjust or stop medications on your own.

What will I eat?

Every meal is animal-based and prepared by a private chef. Think beautifully cooked steaks, slow-roasted meats, bone broth, eggs, and other high-quality animal proteins. The food is extraordinary.

What if the physician determines I'm not healthy enough to attend?

Your safety comes first, always. If the physician reviews your bloodwork and health history and concludes that the retreat poses too great a risk to your health, you will not be permitted to attend and your deposit will be refunded in full. This is rare, but the policy exists because we take your well-being seriously.

Do I need to complete bloodwork before the retreat?

Yes. All guests must complete bloodwork no later than two weeks before the retreat start date. This allows the physician to review your results, prepare a personalized protocol, and ensure you're in a safe position to participate. We'll provide specific instructions and a lab order after registration.

Do I need to be in good physical shape to attend?

You don't need to be an athlete. The retreat is designed to meet you where you are. That said, you should be able to manage daily activities independently (walking, getting in and out of a vehicle, navigating the venue grounds). If you have specific mobility concerns, reach out to us and we'll help you determine if the retreat is a good fit.

How much does the retreat cost?

Retreat pricing ranges from $15,000 to $20,000 depending on the location and accommodations. This includes 11 nights of private lodging, all meals prepared by a private chef, physician oversight, one-on-one sessions with a nutritionist and therapist, pre-retreat bloodwork review, and all retreat programming. Spa services and transportation are not included.

What's the payment process?

A deposit is required at registration to secure your spot. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the retreat start date. We also offer a payment plan option for those who prefer to spread payments between booking and the final due date. Details are provided at registration.

What happens if the retreat doesn't reach the minimum number of guests?

Each retreat requires a minimum of 10 registrants. If that minimum is not reached, the retreat will not proceed and your deposit will be refunded in full.

What is the cancellation policy?

Once the final balance is paid, payments are non-refundable but are transferable. You may transfer your registration to another person, subject to medical clearance. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking to protect your investment.

Do I need to arrange my own transportation?

Yes. Guests are responsible for their own travel to and from the retreat location. Once your registration is confirmed, we'll provide recommended airports, driving routes, and ground transportation options for your specific venue.

Are the rooms private?

Yes. Every guest receives a private room. This is your retreat, and your space is yours alone.

Is there a minimum age to attend?

Yes. All guests must be at least 18 years of age.

Can I bring my spouse or partner?

Yes. Companions are welcome to join you at the retreat venue for an additional fee that covers room and board. However, please be aware that all meals served during the retreat are strictly animal-based. There will be no alternative dining options provided. Your companion should be comfortable with this before deciding to attend.

Can my companion participate in the retreat programming?

Companions are welcome to enjoy the venue, the spa, and the natural surroundings, but retreat programming (physician oversight, nutritional counseling, behavioral health sessions, and structured activities) is reserved for registered guests. If your companion would like to participate fully, they are welcome to register as a guest.

Can I attend alone?

Absolutely. The retreat is designed to be a deeply personal experience, and solo attendees may find that the small group setting creates a strong sense of community. You will not feel alone.

What happens when the 12 days are over?

You'll leave with a personalized roadmap built by your nutritionist, a deeper understanding of how your body responds to this way of eating, and the tools to continue on your own. We also connect guests with post-retreat support resources to help you stay on track as your body continues to heal.

Will I need to eat carnivore forever?

That's entirely your decision. The retreat gives you the experience, the data, and the knowledge to make an informed choice about how you want to eat going forward. Many people choose to continue because they feel too good to stop. Others adapt the approach to fit their lifestyle. There's no pressure either way.

I still have questions. How do I get in touch?

We'd love to hear from you. Reach out to us at info@primalrestart.com and we'll get back to you as quickly as possible. No question is too small.
